What is the Rapide SL Insulated Sleeping Mat?
Good question! It's a durable, insulated sleeping mat designed to keep you warm and comfy when camping. Built for three seasons, the Rapide SL is perfect for general camping, car camping and wild camping between spring and autumn.
This particular mat is designed with double the width, making it perfect for camping duos, whether your partner, friend, family member or even if you’d rather give the dogs a bit of extra luxury.
What is it made of?
Face fabric: The exterior of the mat is made of superlight nylon double ripstop, which is incredibly durable for its weight. It's coated with an aviation-grade TPU lamination to enhance strength and durability for camping in the most rugged terrain, meaning it'll last you years of wear, no matter where you are. This material has a much quieter finish than many other pads on the market, keeping the annoying rustling sounds to a minimum as you find a comfy position to sleep in.
Insulation: Synthetic Primaloft® Silver insulation offers optimum breathability to enhance temperature regulation with an outstanding level of insulation to suit colder conditions.
Warmth is enhanced with a layer of heat-reflective film on the inside of the face fabric. This layer traps your body heat and reflects it to keep you feeling warmer for however long you need.
What are its features?
A proprietary offset I-Beam construction helps reduce the mat's overall weight without compromising performance, providing consistent stability and comfort for wriggly sleepers. Quilting on the top also gives the pad a pillowy feel, so as soon as you close your eyes, you'll feel like your back at home... almost.
Larger baffles on each side of the mat cradle you in the right position and help you to stay centred so that you won’t roll off easily in the middle of the night.
The high-volume valve allows for efficient inflation using the pump sack, fast deflation and adjustments to dial in the firmness of your mat. You also won't need to breathe yourself dizzy when pumping this mat up, as the pump sack takes a gentle breath each time and does the rest of the work for you.
An anti-microbial treatment in the pad helps to prevent microorganism growth, keeping mould from moisture and general bacteria at bay, helping to increase its longevity and performance.
Each Big Agnes mat gets its own seal of approval after being individually inflated and tested before leaving the factory, ensuring 100% performance and quality every time.
Repair patches are included for emergencies, and a replacement valve seal if your pad has really taken a battering.
