What is the Tiger Wall UL2 Tent?
The Tiger Tall UL backcountry tent is the lightest one-person tent in the Big Agnes range. Containing only one pole, it is quick and efficient to set up and aids in trimming down the unwanted weight when you’re carrying a lot of kit.
What is the Tiger Wall UL made of?
Fly: The fly has been solution-dyed, making it highly resistant to UV fade and reducing water and energy consumption during manufacturing. The silicone water-repellent treatment and polyurethane backing give this fabric its 1200mm hydrostatic head.
Floor: The floor uses the same fabric as the fly, so I shan't repeat myself. But it is made in a shallow bathtub style for added comfort and protection from dew and drafts.
Mesh: The lightweight polyester mesh reduces pack size and weight, allowing for breathability and air circulation.
Poles: The single hub style DAC Featherlite pole is strong yet lightweight and provides a stable frame for the Tiger wall in various weather conditions over multiple days.
The total weight containing the full spec comes in at just 1.13kg, with a stripped-down trail weight of only 992g. If you want to go uber light, you could just take the fly and pole as a shelter, shaving off roughly 200g. The protective footprint would add just under 200g to your total, should you wish to purchase it.
What are the Features?
Entry: The two-door entry means this tent has two vestibules for storing boots and other bulky/wet items. Each door features smooth-running dual zipper closures with enough room in the dry entry vestibule to remove boots and damp clothing to keep the interior dry.
Space: The 28ft² floor area has a 39 inch internal sitting height that will fit two people shoulder to shoulder or one person with plenty of room. The foot end has greater useable space due to the raised wall structure meaning more room for your feet or your furry companion.
Storage: Inside is a "mezzanine" 3D bin built into the ceiling above the foot end for extra storage and conveniently placed pockets for doors and next to the head for power bank and phone storage, with clean cable routing options.
Ventilation: You can increase ventilation using the low vent feature on the vestibule doors or top venting using the double zip.
Guys, Attachments & Pegs: The super lightweight guys are reflective to avoid literal nighttime trips to the toilet.
The proprietory TipLock Tent Buckle combines many useful features; securing the pole tips, attaching and tensioning the fly, and pegging out.
The 6 inch Dirt Dagger UL tent Stakes are a lighter and more robust option thanks to the patent-pending I-beam aluminium construction.
